Lead Quality Engineer

Our client, BAE Systems, a key player in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to join their Business Unit- Submarines team on a contract basis. This role is based in Barrow with potential hybrid working arrangements.Key Responsibilities:Leading the quality assurance activities within the Submarine Solutions business unitDeveloping, implementing and maintaining quality management systemsEnsuring that all products, processes, and systems comply with relevant quality standards and regulatory requirementsCollaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality issuesProviding guidance and training to team members on quality standards and best practicesReporting on quality metrics and performance to senior managementSupporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiencyManaging and coordinating internal and external auditsJob Requirements:Significant experience in quality engineering within the Defence or Security sectorStrong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirementsExperience working with larger mechanical pieces and electrical support systemsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to lead and motivate a team of engineersEffective communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholdersSecurity level SC, subject to ITAR and UK eyes onlyContract Information:Location: Barrow, with hybrid working ..... full job details .....
