Lead Project Planner - active SC required

Location: Luton (mostly onsite)

Duration: 12 month contract

Rate: -68ph UMB (Inside IR35)

Role details:

Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is looking for an SC cleared Lead Project Planner to join their dynamic team in Luton on a contract basis. This role is crucial to the IDAS team, involving the leadership of planning activities for a complex design and development bid within the Electronics Warfare line of business.

• Lead the preparation and submission of secure and compelling proposals with a focus on project controls.
• Manage the project schedules using P6 Scheduling Tool and Primavera Risk Analyser.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver required outcomes.
• Coach and mentor bid team members in project controls best practices.
• Engage and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders up to VP level.
• Analyse and provide recommendations on Schedule Risk Analysis.
• Ensure compliance with all procedures and appropriate escalation when necessary.
• Maintain commercial and financial acumen in all project planning activities.

• Active SC clearance
• Significant experience in project planning and scheduling, especially in bid phase and complex engineering development projects.
• Expert user in P6 Scheduling Tool and Primavera Risk Analyser.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team members.
• Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Effective independent working and recognition of appropriate escalation scenarios.
• Strong commercial and financial understanding.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
