We are focused on enabling the sustainable generation of electricity for customers around the world while operating to the highest environmental, social, and regulatory standards.
In addition, as part of a strategically important industry, Urenco is now required to support the UK Government in exploring options to re-establish nuclear fuel capabilities to produce reactor fuel for defence purposes.
To support this new project, we are seeking a Lead Project Controller to join our team at Capenhurst/Warrington. In this role, you will work within our Government Services function as a key interface between site teams and Group stakeholders to ensure effective planning, coordination, and delivery across complex programmes.
You will lead project controls activities across a portfolio of projects while managing and developing a high-performing Project Support team. You will be responsible for project controls strategy, reporting, forecasting, resource planning, and performance management, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives.
Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will provide leadership across planning, cost, risk, change, and reporting activities, enabling effective decision-making and successful project delivery.

About the Role
What You''ll Do
Lead Project Controls
- Develop project controls strategies and implement project controls plans.
- Ensure effective control of project scope, cost, schedule, risk, and business benefits.
- Implement project controls processes, reporting frameworks, and performance metrics.
Manage Project Performance
- Monitor project and supply chain performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Deliver portfolio reporting, forecasting, and resource planning activities.
- Provide project teams with robust controls, analysis, and decision-making support.
Lead & Develop the Team
- Lead and develop a team delivering planning, cost, risk, reporting, and project control services.
- Ensure effective deployment and utilisation of project controls resources.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and customer-focused team culture.
What Do You Need to Thrive in This Role?
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Project Management or Project Controls qualification (APM, PMI, ACostE, or equivalent).
Experience
- Experience leading project controls on major capital projects.
- Demonstrable experience across the full project lifecycle, from concept development through to project handover.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams and regulated environments.
Technical & Professional Capability
- Strong project controls, reporting, forecasting, and resource planning expertise.
- Ability to develop project controls strategies and performance reporting frameworks.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
