Supply Desk is currently recruiting for a Lead Midday Supervisor on behalf of a welcoming and well-organised school based in Aylesbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a calm, confident approach who enjoys working with children and leading others.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, welfare, and appropriate behaviour of pupils during the midday period, including lunch routines and transitions. You will lead a team of Midday Supervisors to deliver a supportive and structured lunchtime experience.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and Kitchen Manager to support allergy and dietary needs, liaise with parents where necessary, and assist with basic food preparation and allergy-related arrangements.

About the Role:


  • Dining Hall Supervision: Manage safe entry, queuing, and exit of pupils; support meal transport and encourage healthy eating habits. Report any concerns about eating or drinking.
  • Health, Safety andamp; Hygiene: Keep the dining area clean and safe by managing spills, tables, and hygiene. Oversee mealtime routines like drink distribution and cutlery use.
  • Allergy andamp; Dietary Management: Maintain allergy records and coordinate with parents, staff, and kitchen to meet dietary needs. Monitor children to ensure safe meal consumption.
  • Behaviour andamp; Safeguarding: Promote good behaviour, handle issues, and follow safeguarding and safety protocols.
  • Leadership andamp; Kitchen Support: Lead and support midday supervisors; assist kitchen staff with basic food prep and meal service.



The ideal candidate will:


  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident in leading and coordinating a team
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Able to manage dietary needs and allergies with attention to detail
  • Basic awareness of food hygiene and safety (training can be provided)
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of allergy management and special diets
  • First Aid and/or Food Hygiene qualification
  • Experience supporting kitchen or catering teams
