Lead Mechanical Engineer

Overview:
Our client, a key player in the UK energy sector, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering and construction team. This is a high-impact role with responsibility for technical direction, design review, and vendor oversight on major projects in the onshore energy industry.
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical design activities from concept to execution
• Review specifications, drawings, data sheets, and vendor documentation
• Perform equipment testing and witness inspection
• Provide consultancy and technical direction to both clients and internal teams
• Identify technology improvements and cost-effective solutions
• Liaise across engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project delivery

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Chartered status desirable)
• Experience in Petrochemical, Renewables, or Waste-to-Energy projects
• Proficient in mechanical codes (ASME, API, EN) and QA procedures
• Able to lead teams and work autonomously
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
