Lead Java Developer

Spencer Rose is urgently seeking a Lead Java Developer to work on an exciting transformation programme for our Tier1 banking client working on modern, cloud-native applications and microservices. Based in Edinburgh. Start: ASAPDuration: 6-12 months (with possible extensions)Rate: £400-420pd all inclusiveLocation: Edinburgh - hybrid - 2 days a week in the office Key skills: Strong Java (8/11/17+) development experience with enterprise applications Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate and microservices architecture React.js, JavaScript andamp; TypeScript with modern Front End development practices Docker andamp; Kubernetes and CI/CD using Jenkins, Git/GitHub Strong automated testing experience with JUnit, Mockito, Jest, React Testing Library and Playwright Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB Performance tuning, profiling and application optimisation Security principles including JWT, OWASP and Zero Trust Experience with Kafka/event-driven architecture and cloud-native development Strong code review, pair programming and TDD/shift-left mindset Desirable: GCP, Node.js, Dynatrace/Splunk and banking/financial services experience.
