About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to organise, manage, and maintain internal quality assurance processes across the organisation''s training and assessment provision.
The successful candidate will ensure assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable, and consistent, while ensuring compliance with the requirements of awarding organisations including EAL, City & Guilds, ECITB, TWI, JTL (CompEx), and Pearson Edexcel Higher National Programmes.
This role plays a key part in embedding a strong culture of quality throughout the organisation, supporting IQAs, assessors, and trainers, and driving continuous improvement across learning and assessment activities.
Please note that Apprenticeship End Point Assessment provision sits separately to this role and is managed independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate internal quality assurance activity across the organisation.
- Maintain effective internal quality assurance systems and processes.
- Ensure assessment decisions are fair, consistent, valid, and compliant with awarding body standards.
- Support and guide IQAs, assessors, and trainers to maintain high standards of delivery and assessment.
- Lead standardisation meetings and quality improvement activities.
- Monitor quality performance and implement continuous improvement actions where required.
- Prepare for and support external quality assurance activities and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with awarding organisation requirements and regulatory standards.
- Promote and embed a positive culture of quality across the training provision.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in a similar position within an education or training environment, ideally with an engineering background.
Essential Criteria
- Recognised Internal Quality Assurance qualification (e.g. Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice or equivalent).
- Teaching qualification.
- Engineering trade discipline qualification to a minimum Level 3.
- Significant experience as an IQA within a training provider environment.
- Strong knowledge of awarding organisation requirements and external quality assurance processes.
- Experience of leading standardisation and quality improvement activities.
- Strong craft and technical skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel between sites is required.

Working Hours
Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:15pm
Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
