About the Opportunity

Our client is a highly respected workplace design and build consultancy with an outstanding reputation for delivering innovative, people-centric commercial interiors across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Lead Interior Designer to join their Manchester studio and take a pivotal role in shaping and delivering best-in-class workplace environments.

This is an opportunity for a commercially astute and creatively driven designer to lead projects from strategic inception through early-stage design development, while overseeing delivery through to completion.

The Role

As Lead Interior Designer, you will lead the design process across RIBA Stages 03, taking ownership of concept generation, workplace strategy, client presentations and design development, before providing design oversight through project delivery and completion.

This is a client-facing leadership role suited to someone who combines strong conceptual ability with commercial awareness and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead workplace interior design projects from brief creation through RIBA Stages 03
• Develop compelling workplace concepts, space planning solutions and innovative design narratives
• Present and pitch design concepts confidently to clients, securing buy-in at all levels
• Facilitate workshops, understand client objectives and translate business needs into creative solutions
• Collaborate closely with technical teams and project delivery teams to ensure design intent is maintained through construction
• Oversee projects through delivery, providing design leadership and quality control through to completion
• Mentor and support junior/intermediate designers within the studio
• Contribute to bids, pitches and business development opportunities where required
• Keep abreast of workplace trends, materials, sustainability and innovation in commercial interiors

About You

• Degree qualified in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related discipline
• Significant experience designing commercial workplace / office interiors
• Proven track record leading projects from concept through delivery
• Highly confident in client-facing presentations and pitching design concepts
• Strong conceptual, spatial planning and storytelling skills
• Commercially aware, organised and capable of leading multiple projects
• Experience working within design & build, consultancy or workplace interiors environments preferred
• Natural leadership qualities with the ability to inspire clients and colleagues alike

Software Skills

Proficiency in:

AutoCAD
SketchUp
Adobe InDesign

(Experience with additional visualisation/rendering packages would be advantageous.)
