OverviewThis is a Senior Infrastructure Specialist role leading the Data Networks team within Network Services (part of the Core Infrastructure platform). The mission is to provide network services that are always on, secure and ready for tomorrow, with a focus on supporting the Group and the wider UK in driving the sustainability agenda.
The role aims to transform core technology architecture and enhance technical capabilities while embedding DevOps and Agile practices to enable feature teams to increase autonomy and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and integrate Data solutions and services to achieve our goals.
Promote and enable the continuous enhancement of networks processes through automation and orchestration.
Identify opportunities to reduce operating and change costs, enhance change accuracy, and adopt innovative approaches to how we deliver change and service.
Act as a technical leader within the team, mentoring others and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure our people and processes are prepared for the future, aligning with bank and network strategies to transform Networks.
Provide consideration and confidence to complex Data solution decisions, ensuring alignment with industry practices and group technology policies to ensure reliable, scalable, performant, accessible, and secure solutions.
What You’ll Need
Experience of leading an engineering team. Managing risk, meeting security standards, and balancing service maintenance with capability transformation.
Extensive experience in enterprise Data Network operations with exposure to technologies such as Cisco Wi-Fi, ACI Technologies, SD-WAN, and network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Sev-1).
Experience with Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling; proficiency in Python, Harness, Ansible and Terraform.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience creating and maintaining product roadmaps, managing technical debt, maintaining production health, and enabling skill development for target technology architecture.
Strong ownership and the ability to unblock technical challenges and promote new patterns and solutions for broad use.
