Lead Technician – Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Technician to join a dynamic service and engineering environment. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who enjoys a balance of hands-on work and team coordination. Supporting the Service Manager, you will play a key role in driving service excellence, overseeing technical performance, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently. You will act as a central point of contact across service operations, leading complex diagnostics, supporting field teams, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical support, including fault finding, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of industrial machinery
  • Act as a technical escalation point for field-based technicians and subcontractors
  • Support planning, coordination, and delivery of service projects to meet deadlines
  • Monitor job progress, identify risks, and take proactive action to resolve issues
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of technicians, sharing best practices
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and service level agreements
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, reporting, and job tracking records
Education & Skills Required
  • Strong hands-on technical experience within industrial or service environments
  • Solid understanding of machinery, diagnostics, and maintenance processes
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Proactive, solution-focused approach to problem solving
  • High attention to quality, safety, and operational standards
