Mentoring and guiding technical specialists and other technical staff is key as part of the knowledge-sharing ethos within the team. You will also be expected to co-ordinate small teams of technicians to deliver new services and service improvements. There will be occasional out of hours requirements for planned works or major incidents, therefore you will need to be within an hour of the location and have your own transport. Sponsorship is not available for this role. Your new role As the SME, you will lead on firewall elements and provide 3rd line support. There is both a BAU and a project element to the role. You will be one of the lead engineers in the team and your role will combine line management duties, mentoring junior members of staff and providing in-depth technical knowledge and expertise.
