Lead Engineer

Lead Engineer Swindon £60,000 - £70,000 + 10% Bonus We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business working on complex, bespoke machinery and equipment. This is a varied, customer-facing role for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who enjoys being involved in the full engineering process. Lead Engineer Roles and Responsibilities: Lead the technical direction and mechanical design of complex machinery, mechanisms and bespoke equipment Produce and check 3D CAD designs and 2D manufacturing drawings, ideally using Autodesk Inventor Produce and verify engineering calculations and ensure designs meet required standards Review designs for manufacture and act as the technical authority for engineering queries Take ownership of engineering projects from initial enquiry through to successful completion Coordinate engineering documentation, workshop activities, resources and project programmes Monitor projects against cost, time and quality targets Work directly with customers to understand requirements and provide technical support Provide engineering input into bids, estimates, proposals and project budgets Lead, mentor and support the engineering team Get involved with hands-on mechanical build, assembly, fitting and development where required Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, production and commercial teams Lead Engineer Ideal Candidate: Degree-level qualification in Mechanical ..... full job details .....
