We are seeking a skilled Lead Electrical Technician to join a specialist integration team in Motherwell. You''ll play a crucial role in supervising hardware integration activities and supporting FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) readiness across a variety of advanced process control platforms.
This is a hands-on, technical leadership role, ideal for a proactive individual with a solid electrical background and strong understanding of control system hardware.

Location: Motherwell
Rate: -20.00 - -25.00 per hour PAYE only, plus holiday pay in addition.
Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Contract Duration: 6-12 months
Vetting: Employment referencing & drug screen

** Candidates must already hold the right to live & work in the UK at the time of application & for the duration of the contract.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to a small team of 2-4 assembly technicians.
  • Power up hardware platforms to ensure FAT can begin on schedule.
  • Conduct electrical inspections and testing (including Earth Bond and Flash Testing).
  • Act as the Authorised Electrical Person-responsible for isolations, lockout/tagout, and reconnection.
  • Manage and maintain test racks, legacy test equipment, and calibration records.
  • Support FAT activities and help prepare systems for shipment post-testing.
  • Maintain defect log registers and resolve hardware-related issues.
  • Recommend improvements in quality and efficiency within the integration team.
  • Comply with all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience working with Control Panels and Process Control Systems (Honeywell DCS/Safety Systems preferred).
  • Knowledge of BS 7671 electrical standards and wiring regulations.
  • Competence in electrical testing procedures and using diagnostic tools.
  • Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • OPITO-approved BOSIET training (desirable).
