Lead Driller

We are working with a leading consultancy to recruit an experienced Driller to join their growing ground investigation team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional who takes pride in high-quality work, values safety, and enjoys working outdoors as part of a professional and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate borehole and window sampling equipment, dynamic probing tools, and other handheld or tracked systems, including Dart Mini rigs and similar small-scale rigs.
• Collect soil and groundwater samples in line with BS5930 and BS10175 standards.
• Accurately record drilling activities, sample depths, and ground conditions.
• Carry out pre-start checks and routine maintenance on rigs and equipment.
• Work closely with site engineers, geologists, and other drilling staff.
• Ensure all work meets health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Travel and stay away from home as required (expenses covered).

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating window sampling and borehole drilling rigs.
• CSCS card.
• NVQ Level 2 in Land Drilling (Lead Driller) or equivalent qualification (preferred).
• Clean UK driving licence (essential).
• Strong commitment to safe working practices.
• Flexible approach to working hours and travel.
