Remote contracts will be offered only to successful candidates who do not live a reasonable, commutable distance to either our Cardiff, Belfast or Edinburgh offices. In cases where your home address is considered to be a commutable distance from the office, you will be aligned to the office you live nearest to, where you will be expected to attend on a regular basis. We are currently using a hybrid approach to the way we work which provides opportunities for you to be adaptable in the way you work so that you can achieve a healthy balance between your work and home life. If you are offered a hybrid contract, the degree of choice you have will depend on your role and your day-to-day work activities. Your manager will agree regular patterns of attendance with you, however you may be required to make yourself available to attend the office more frequently when required to meet business needs.Person specification
We’re looking for the following experience and technical skills, which will be assessed at sift and at interview.The successful candidate will have experience of:Incident/Problem resolution and root cause analysisProblem resolution via coding and scriptingAdhoc reporting and data managementProven experience within an IT environment (preferably in an Ops environment), and of leading a technical teamSystem software build and release - Automation of manual processes, including code deployment and environment provisioningSetting up performance monitoring / alerting / tuning for web-based services and API’sCoaching and supporting colleagues in non-functional requirements, ensuring availability, security, capacity, and performance for the servicesEngaging in continuous improvement activities by working collaboratively within and outside of the teamExcellent customer focus, communication, and networking skillsMentoring and leading less experienced members of the teamThey will also have demonstrable technical experience of:Unix/Linux in a support or development environmentDevOps and associated technologies – Continuous Delivery methods and techniques, including agile scrum experienceSupporting infrastructure in the cloudDatabase queryingAny type of codingAWS, Java, Terraform, Concourse, Ansible, Docker, JSON, SQL, GIT, Tibco iProcess, Doc1 (experience in similar technologies will be considered)Behaviours
