Lead Designer - Autodesk Inventor Permanent Full-Time

Salary - Circa -47,500 DOE
Location - Office based in Leighton Buzzard

Join a family-run manufacturer specialising in bespoke lifting equipment and crane solutions. The company serves diverse industries with products such as overhead cranes, gantries, and lifting accessories. With over four decades of experience, it offers design, installation, maintenance, and LOLER inspection services, emphasising safety, compliance, and tailored solutions.

We''re looking for a skilled designer to lead the creation of bespoke lifting solutions, produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor, oversee compliance, collaborate with teams and clients, and mentor junior designers, ensuring quality and innovation throughout each project.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

• Lead the design and development of bespoke lifting and handling solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
• Produce accurate 3D models and detailed technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software
• Conduct site surveys and utilise 3D scanning technology to inform and enhance design accuracy
• Review and approve technical documents, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance
• Collaborate with project teams and clients to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions
• Provide technical support throughout installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to continuous improvement within the team

Experiences required

• Proficient user of Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, PTC Creo, Onshape, Siemens)
• Experience designing steel/fabricated structures, precision components, mechanisms, and sheet metal parts
• Ability to create detailed technical drawings for manufacture (DFM)
• Academic qualification or time-served background in engineering
