Are you a Design Engineer (Product / Vehicle Engineering) with strong design experience looking for technical ownership and the freedom to shape how a design team operates?

On offer is a permanent lead role within a specialist vehicle manufacturing environment, focused on integrating products into a truck-mounted range. You''ll lead design tasks across mechanical/structural work.

You''ll be trusted to develop and mentor the engineers around you, highlight training needs, and support the Engineering Manager with input on budgets, resources, CapEx and project planning. This is a hands-on environment where you''ll spend time in and around vehicles taking measurements and making design assessments.

You will produce 3D models and 2D drawings, create BOMs and production drawings, and liaise with internal teams and suppliers to deliver new assemblies and improve existing data. Occasional travel (including abroad) may be required for exhibitions and external testing.

This role suits a success-motivated engineer who wants leadership responsibility, autonomy, and real influence over product development, not just CAD output.

The Role:

• Lead product design activity from concept through prototype support, working closely with Production, Quality and suppliers
• Create/oversee 3D models, 2D drawings and BOMs (SolidWorks / AutoCAD), including legacy data updates
• Monday-Friday Days based role

The Person:

• Design engineering experience within a relevant mechanical / structural environment
• Comfortable leading/mentoring engineers, ERP familiarity (SAP or similar)
• Commutable to Marden, Kent
