This company is looking for a Lead Design & Estimating Engineer to take the helm of our technical design and cost estimation efforts. This is a pivotal role in a fast-growing business that delivers advanced security solutions for solar farms and perimeter protection projects across the UK.

You''ll be responsible for producing high-quality system designs, costings, and tender documentation - while working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure every project is technically sound and commercially viable.

As the business evolves, this role offers strong potential for progression into a senior leadership position. You may also take on line management of junior engineers as our team continues to grow.

The role

• Designing accurate, cost-effective electronic security systems (primarily perimeter/solar farm projects)
• Producing detailed quotations, tender responses, and technical proposals
• Conducting desktop and occasional on-site surveys to interpret drawings and specifications
• Using AutoCAD / AutoCAD LT and MS Projects to produce and review design documentation
• Working with suppliers and manufacturers to source technical data and pricing
• Supporting tender submissions and contributing to commercial decisions on bids
• Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless project handovers and consistent delivery
• Helping to shape internal systems and processes in a dynamic, evolving environment

What We''re Looking For

• Experience in the electronic security industry, ideally with a focus on perimeter or solar installations
• Proven ability in system design and cost estimation
• Confident using AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, and MS Projects
• Skilled in producing bids/tenders and assessing technical risk

Desirable (but not essential):

• Mentoring or line management experience
• Exposure to security industry standards and high-value infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of SimPro, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001
