Lead GCP Data Engineer - Insurance Industry Location: London/Hybrid Salary/Rate: £80,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent/Long-term FTC About the Role: We are looking for a hands-on Lead GCP Data Engineer to join a strategic data platform programme for a major global insurer. You will lead the technical direction for data acquisition and onboarding, creating reusable ingestion frameworks that unify multiple business units onto a single Google Cloud Platform. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and delivery of scalable data ingestion patterns and metadata-driven pipelines. Establish engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices across the team. Provide technical oversight and guide engineers to avoid one-off point-to-point integrations. Make data ingestion simple, repeatable, and automated for platform users. Required Skills andamp; Experience: Strong, demonstrable GCP data engineering experience. Proven background with ingestion engines and metadata-driven pipelines. Ability to define patterns, architecture, and standards across a multi-functional team. Strong understanding of reusable cloud engineering approaches.
