Shift Technician / Deputy Data Centre Lead Data Centre Location: Croydon, South London Salary: Up to £62,000 + Benefits Shift Pattern: Shift Based Requirement: HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person) The Opportunity We are recruiting an experienced Shift Technician / Senior Critical Facilities Engineer to join the engineering team at a major financial-services data centre in Croydon. This is a senior position within the shift team, effectively operating as the 2IC for the data centre. You''ll support site leadership with the safe, reliable and efficient operation of a mission-critical facility while remaining technically hands-on. The position would suit an experienced HVAP engineer looking to take on greater responsibility without moving away from engineering. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure within a live data centre. Act as HV Authorised Person (HVAP), supporting HV switching, isolations and safe systems of work. Operate as the 2IC within the engineering team, supporting the site''s engineering leadership. Provide technical guidance and support to shift engineers. Coordinate specialist subcontractors and engineering activities.
