At Mallard Short Breaks, we support children and young people with disabilities to enjoy time away from home in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. Our short breaks are about more than providing care. They give young people opportunities to build confidence, develop independence, enjoy new experiences and have fun, while giving families reassurance that their child is supported by people who understand their individual needs. As a Lead Children''s Worker, you''ll be part of that support while taking additional responsibility for leading shifts, guiding colleagues and helping ensure each young person receives consistent, person-centred care. What you''ll do Lead shifts and help coordinate the day-to-day running of the serviceProvide practical and personal care based around each young person''s individual needsPlan activities and experiences that support development, independence and wellbeingKey work with individual children, maintaining care plans, risk assessments and outcomesWork closely with families and other professionals to provide consistent supportSupport colleagues and help maintain high standards of care, safety and record keeping About you You''ll have an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care (Children), HNC or equivalent SCQF Level 7 qualification and experience of working with children, ideally those with additional support needs.
