Lead Buyer Construction Boyd Recruitment are currently representing an independently owned main contractor in the Glasgow area. Our client has been present in the Scottish market for over 30 years. They have built a strong reputation across civil engineering and Main contracting. They are looking to add a lead buyer to the management team. The Job The role will involve: Negotiate prices and purchase goods, materials, and services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets Provide an exemplary customer experience of advice and guidance to the business Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers Research, analyse and evaluate areas of opportunity to reduce costs Develop creative and innovative procurement processes Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement Negotiate framework contract specific agreements, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake regular performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and adherence the business ethos.
