JOB DESCRIPTION Job responsibilities Author and optimize queries for performance and correctness. Monitor and tune database performance, including query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and caching. Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability for database systems. Support production incidents and perform root cause analysis; participate in on-call rotations. Assist application teams with data access patterns, migrations, and release planning. Engage technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose data architecture approaches to meet current and future needs. Evaluate recommendations for new technologies and provide actionable feedback. Execute creative data architecture solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code written by others. Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, aggregates, subqueries, and explain/analyze plans.
