Lead Aerodynamicist

Our client, a leader in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a Lead Aerodynamicist to join their team in Warton on a 12-month contract basis. This position involves working full time on-site with a standard 37-hour working week. The role falls inside IR35 and requires BPSS and Full SC - ITAR clearance.Key Responsibilities:Leading aerodynamic analysis and design activities for defence and security projectsConducting wind tunnel testing, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, and aerodynamic performance assessmentsCollaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate aerodynamic solutions into broader project objectivesProviding technical guidance and mentorship to junior team membersPreparing detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholdersEnsuring all aerodynamic work aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirementsParticipating in design reviews and providing expert insights on aerodynamic implicationsContributing to the continuous improvement of aerodynamic methodologies and toolsJob Requirements:Extensive experience in aerodynamics within the Defence and Security sectorStrong understanding and application of fluid dynamics principles and CFD softwareProven track record of conducting wind tunnel tests and interpreting dataExcellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detailEffective communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work collaboratively in a team ..... full job details .....
