Alecto Recruitment is looking to hear from experienced CNC Turners interested in working as a late shift CNC Turner (hours below) for an established precision engineering company in Leighton Buzzard.

Benefits

• Salary depending on experience. Range -3238k per annum flat rate, however late shift premium is time plus a third.
• The position is full-time and permanent, and an immediate start is available.
• Hours are Monday - Wednesday 4.30pm - 3.30am, Thursday 4.30pm - 1.30am.
• Holidays are 28 days including Bank Holidays + extra bonus holiday over the Christmas Period to ensure a full shutdown.

Required Experience

• Proven time served experience in programming, setting and operating 2 axis turning machines.
• Ability to write new CNC programs long hand at the machine with little or no supervision.
• Experience programming using ''Manual Guide i'' software.
• Experience programming using G codes.
• Also, editing prewritten programs, the full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, feeds.
• Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
• Producing one off, as well as low to medium volume precision parts in a range of hard and soft metals.
• Excellent working knowledge of 2 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances.
• Solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards.
• Experience of Fanuc controls would be advantageous.
• Have a strong working history within the manufacturing industry within a machine shop environment.
• Have a hands-on, quality driven, positive, self-motivated manner in order to be able to hit the ground running.
• Confident in working on parts up to -300mm x 3m in length, using lifting equipment provided is preferred as some of our work can be large. Hoist training will be provided.
