AMADA Laser Operator / Setter

Split Day / Afternoon Shift

We are recruiting an experienced-Laser Operator / Setter-to join a well-established sheet metal manufacturing company in Dudley.

The company has recently invested in a-new AMADA laser cutting machine-and is looking for an experienced operator to join the team and work across a split day and afternoon shift.

This is a-temporary-to-permanent position, with a genuine opportunity to secure a permanent role with the company.

The Role

You''ll be responsible for operating and setting the laser cutting machine within a busy sheet metal manufacturing environment.

Duties will include:

Setting and operating the AMADA laser

Loading and unloading sheet material

Selecting and running programmes

Making machine adjustments where required

Monitoring the cutting process

Checking finished components for quality and accuracy

Working from engineering drawings and job specifications

Working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium

Identifying and reporting any machine or cutting issues

Carrying out basic operator maintenance

Keeping the machine and surrounding work area clean and organised

What We''re Looking For

We''re looking for someone with previous experience as a:

• Laser Operator
• Laser Setter / Operator
• CNC Laser Operator
• AMADA Laser Operator
• Sheet Metal Machine Operator

You''ll ideally have:

• Previous CNC laser cutting experience
• Experience setting and operating laser cutting machinery
• AMADA experience would be a strong advantage
• Experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment
• Ability to work from engineering drawings
• Good understanding of sheet materials and thicknesses
• Experience carrying out quality checks on finished components
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work independently

Experience on other laser cutting machines such as Bystronic or Trumpf will also be considered.

Shift Pattern

This position will work across a-split day and afternoon shift pattern.

Candidates must therefore be flexible and comfortable working both days and afternoons.
