Learning &Development Advisor, Barrow in Furness, 12-month contract; 37 hours per week; £35.55 ph. paye; Inside IR35.
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Learning and Development Advisor working with a defence client based in Barrow-in Furness as they undertake a large L&D project .The post holder should have good L&D knowledge along with best practice and benchmarking expertise that they can bring to the business- this could be within Talent Management, strategic workforce planning or learning and development
The role will also require the successful candidate to spend the majority of their time-sharing specialist knowledge and providing support to individuals or working with people advisors/ partners to facilitate the project.
Duties will include but not limited to
Supports the deployment of an overall specialism, best practice policies, processes, governance and supporting tools.
Provides specialist advice including facilitation of refinement, development planning, design and delivery of solutions in their area of expertise.
Reviews data to identify solutions that improve performance.
Advocates of key tools e.g. Success Factors, able to transfer system knowledge across the Business.
Supports projects to deliver agreed business/functional outcomes.
Contributes to steering/working groups to deliver Centre of Expertise (COE) requirements.
Supports delivery end to end services (including services provided by People Services and external third parties).
Develops effective and positive relationships with the People Team and other stakeholders within the business as required.
Works with other CoEs and other partners to deliver integrated business-focussed solutions.
Provides analytical insight and the ability to interpret, manage and manipulate data with an excellent attention to detail.
Supports, where applicable, the development of frameworks, governance, education and supporting tools to ensure effective business implementation and delivery including but not all of:-
Development and deployment of talent pools and associated development interventions in partnership with other COE;
Job families and competency frameworks, leadership and functional, in conjunction with other content specialists.
Assessment and evaluation of best practice and process.
Performance management; developmental activities and coaching.
Cyclical Employee Value Proposition Activities; Pay Reviews, Incentives, psychological contract.
Key talent programmes e.g. Sigma, Graduates High Potential programmes etc.
Diversity and Inclusion best practice approaches.

Skills and Expereience required
Learning and development knowledge and experience ideally gained within a manufacturing , customer focused or project-based environment
Experienced of working within a unionised based environment
The ability to apply skills and knowledge to a range of problems and issues. Draws upon more
experienced members of the team for guidance and advice
To have a proactive approach to solving problems, working with the wider team to develop solutions.

An ability to by analytical, methodical and organised when dealing with and presenting data
Experience of translating information into appropriate solutions whilst delivering within budget and timescales
Experience of coaching would be an advantage
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Proficient in the use of MS Office Applications, in particular Excel (up to VLOOKUP standard)
Ability to work as part of a team
CIPD qualification would be desirable.
