Overview
Our client, a prominent name in the science and manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician on a 4 Month contract basis.Key Responsibilities
Sampling at all specified points on raw materials, manufacturing processes, and finished goods for chemical and microbiological analysisConducting micro analysis of samples as per specified methodsExecuting product sensory panels to meet requirementsEnsuring all quality and food safety checks are carried out satisfactorilyInforming the Technical Team of results outside specifications to initiate corrective actionsControlling the Non-conformance databaseEnsuring all daily/weekly/monthly tasks are completed as per scheduleManaging the Training Matrix and ensuring all trainings are up to dateUpdating Laboratory DocumentsMaintaining and calibrating analytical equipment as requiredEnsuring raw materials and chemicals used within the laboratory are within acceptable date criteriaArranging service contracts and maintaining high standards for equipmentOrdering materials and equipment as neededFollowing procedures to ensure the quality laboratory operation meets requirements of external accredited bodiesPerforming timely process confirmations in the labProviding technical support to other company departments as requiredObserving company health and safety procedures and proactively ensuring continued updating of proceduresCompleting GMP and internal audits on timeAssisting Quality Management with the implementation of quality systems and project workOrganising appropriate cover for the lab in the case of sickness, holidays, etc.Job Requirements
Practical experience of Good Laboratory Practices and microbiology testingExperience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, adhering to QA/sensory and laboratory accreditation standardsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamGood written and verbal communication skillsCapability to interact with multiple levels within the business and external contractorsProficient in PC skills with the ability to interpret analytical and microbiological dataWorking knowledge of SAP is advantageousWillingness and capability to learn new skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to work on a 12-hour day shift pattern, including weekends and Bank HolidaysAble to participate in the "On Call roster" for weekend coverKey Qualifications
