About the Role

This Laboratory Technician post in Southampton is a full-time temporary assignment for twelve months, possibly extended, working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours weekly, with pay between £35,300 and £43,600 annually. Join Our Client as a Laboratory Technician in a hands-on, quality-focused role at a busy industrial site. What you''ll be doing:
* Carry out daily routine environmental analysis of plant effluent streams, plus analysis in response to incidents
* Support plant monitoring using methods including metals analysis by AA, MBG testing, and titration-based analysis
* Perform routine and non-routine wet chemistry testing on product and process samples for quality assurance and control
* Prepare samples, ensure accurate data generation, and maintain complete records in line with standard operating procedures
* Help keep lab activities running smoothly through careful attention to process and documentation

What you''ll bring:
* Solid laboratory know-how and a detail-driven approach to testing and recording
* Experience working with environmental and/or water-related analysis (knowledge in this area is highly desirable)
* Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as GC-MS and AA testing, including calibration and maintenance (specialised knowledge is highly desirable)
* Confidence handling routine laboratory workflows while also responding to non-routine requests
