Laboratory Technician
Laboratory Technician - Senior School Location: Maidenhead, SL6 6AW Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Start Date: September 2026 About the Role We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a Senior School from September 2026. This is a full-time, term-time role (approximately 36 weeks per year), working 8:00am-4:30pm, 5 days per week. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of a busy Science Department by preparing materials and apparatus for lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring Health and Safety standards are met. Key Responsibilities Prepare and set up apparatus, materials, and chemical solutions for lessons Assist teachers with practical experiments and demonstrations Maintain laboratories, equipment, chemicals, and stock levels Undertake stock checks, place orders, and manage deliveries Carry out minor repairs or arrange external servicing Ensure safe storage of chemicals and equipment Maintain Health and Safety documentation, risk assessments, and CLEAPSS compliance Keep laboratories clean, tidy, and well organised Support science clubs, open days, and enrichment activities Dispose of waste materials safely Person Specification Science background with experience handling chemicals and lab equipment Strong organisational and practical skills Good knowledge of laboratory Health and Safety requirements Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Flexible, reliable, and able to work as part of a team Desirable: ..... full job details .....
