This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundry experience who is looking for stable hours and the chance to secure a permanent position. Hours: 11.00 am - 19.00 pm Monday to Thursday 11.30 am - 20.00 pm Friday Prepare metal test samples using precision cutting, grinding and polishing techniques for laboratory analysis. Carry out microstructural examination and identification of nodular graphite in ferrite and pearlite. Prepare, use and safely store a range of chemicals in accordance with COSHH requirements. Perform LECO machine analysis to determine carbon and sulphur content in metal samples. Conduct spectrographic chemical analysis to evaluate elemental composition and percentage content. Record laboratory data on computer systems, perform mathematical calculations, prepare graphs and interpreted Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, liaise with the Laboratory Manager and senior colleagues.
