Lab Technician

My client is looking for a Lab Technician to support essential laboratory operations within the life science industry. This permanent role is based in Guildford and focuses on ensuring the smooth running of scientific processes and procedures.

Description

• Sample reception and registration
• Record keeping and quality control
• Preparation of kits for in-house tests
• DNA extraction from various biological materials (blood, buccal cells, saliva)
• Inventory management and procurement of reagents and consumables
• Preparation of SAT (Sperm Aneuploidy Test) samples
• Performing PCR and minisequencing (wet lab)
• Conducting Next Generation Sequencing using the Life Technologies platform (wet lab)
• Performing Karyomapping (wet lab)

Profile

A successful Lab Technician should have:

• A degree or relevant qualification in life sciences or a related field.
• Previous experience in a laboratory setting within the life science industry.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols accurately.
• Proficiency in maintaining and handling laboratory equipment.
• A collaborative mindset and excellent organisational skills.
