KS2 Tutor

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and nurturing tutor to support a Year 5 young person with ASD and ADHD who is currently out of education.The primary focus of this role is to help the young person re-engage with learning at a pace that suits their individual needs, building trust, confidence, resilience, and positive learning experiences before any academic expectations are introduced.About the RoleLocation: SN11 (home-based initially)Hours: Up to 10 hours per weekStart Date: SeptemberKey ResponsibilitiesAdopt a mentoring and nurturing approach to build a positive relationship with the young person.Complete an initial baseline assessment to identify current attainment levels and gaps in learning.Gradually introduce KS2 Maths and English in a way that is accessible, engaging, and pressure-free.Develop the young person''s confidence, resilience, and readiness for more structured learning.Work towards supporting a transition into a formal educational setting when a placement has been identified.The young person is currently without a school placement. The long-term aim is for them to attend a suitable educational setting, ideally within a mainstream environment if appropriate.
