KS2 Teacher - Maternity Cover
Location: Stockport
Salary: GBP160 - GBP270 per day depending on experience
Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm
Start: November 2026
Contract: Full-time maternity cover with planning responsibilities

Prospero Teaching are working with a mainstream primary school in Stockport who are looking for an experienced teacher for their upcoming maternity cover position. The role is expected to start in early November 2026 and you would be working in a KS2 class.
KS2 Teacher - responsibilities
- Take on full responsibility for a KS2 class
- Be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and inclusive lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Be confident supporting children with SEN
- Work closely with the Teaching Assistants in the classroom
- Creating a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and personal development
- Work with parents and carers to ensure pupil progress
- Participation in staff meetings, CPD, and wider school life as required
KS2 Teacher - requirements
- Right to Work in the UK - no sponsorship available
- UK QTS
- Recent UK classroom experience
- Recent experience teaching KS2
- Strong SEN knowledge
- Confident classroom management and organisation
- Ability to create a warm, engaging and purposeful learning environment
- Patient, adaptable and nurturing approach
- Strong communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children''s welfare
