SEN Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs (KS1)Remedy Education Barking Riverside, East London ASAP StartRemedy Education is seeking a confident, energetic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND provision within a mainstream primary school in Barking Riverside.You''ll be supporting a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class of pupils with complex special educational needs, including pre-verbal children who require additional communication support and personal care.We''re looking for someone hands-on, proactive and resilient who is confident working in a busy classroom and passionate about making a difference to children''s lives.The RoleProvide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEND needs.Support pre-verbal and non-verbal children with communication and engagement.Assist with intimate care, including toileting and changing.Support pupils with emotional regulation and challenging behaviour.Encourage independence, social interaction and confidence.Assist with sensory, practical and play-based learning activities.Work closely with teachers to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.The Ideal CandidateHave strong practical experience supporting children with complex SEND needs.Have experience working with pre-verbal or non-verbal pupils.Be comfortable providing intimate and personal care.Be confident managing challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.Have a patient, proactive and resilient approach.Ideally have experience in a ..... full job details .....
