Kitchen Assistant – Care Home

Location: Reigate, Surrey
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available

My client is a well-established care home in Reigate, providing a welcoming and comfortable environment for its residents. They are looking for a reliable and caring Kitchen Assistant to join their team on an ongoing temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in maintaining high standards of food service, cleanliness and resident care.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen and care home team with the day-to-day provision of meals and refreshments for residents.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation and presentation of meals and refreshments
• Supporting the kitchen team during breakfast, lunch and evening meal services
• Preparing dining areas and ensuring residents receive meals in a timely manner
• Washing and cleaning crockery, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and dining areas
• Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times
• Assisting with stock rotation and putting away deliveries where required
• Helping to keep the kitchen organised and running efficiently
• Providing a friendly and respectful service to residents
• Working closely with care and kitchen colleagues to meet residents'' individual needs

We are looking for someone who is dependable, approachable and has a genuine interest in working within a care environment.

Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, hospitality or care home setting is essential.

You will need:

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or food service environment
• Good awareness of food hygiene and safe working practices
• A reliable and flexible approach to work
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A friendly and patient manner when interacting with residents
• The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
• An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the DBS Update Service – this is essential for the role
