Location: Warrington, Cheshire (Local Junior School)

Hours: Part-time (26 hours per week, 4 days, 8:30am - 3:30pm)

Contract: Temporary / Fixed-Term (1 Year)

Start Date: Autumn Term (September 2026)

We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly Warrington junior school team. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with wonderful Key Stage 2 children, providing vital 1-to-1 support for pupils with additional learning needs.

Your Role in Our School

Under the guidance of our teaching and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in making education accessible and enjoyable. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Targeted 1:1 Support: Working closely with individual children who have specific learning and additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and build self-confidence.
  • Small-Group Guidance: Supervising and supporting small groups of pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Pastoral Care: Providing essential support during key parts of the school day, including lunchtime pupil supervision.
  • Collaborative Teaching: Partnering with class teachers to develop and strengthen pupils'' core literacy and numeracy skills.

What We Are Looking For

Our ideal candidate is a proactive team player who brings warmth and patience to the classroom. You should:

  • Have previous experience working with children, preferably those with additional or special educational needs.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
  • Demonstrate positive behaviour management strategies that encourage a calm and productive learning environment.
  • Be committed to safety, strictly adhering to school policies regarding safeguarding, child welfare, health and safety, and data protection.
  • Show a willingness to learn, participating in any relevant training to best support our vulnerable pupils.
