About the Role
We''re looking for a dedicated and experienced KCC Support Worker Team Manager to oversee our Kent Support Team. Reporting to the KCC Registered Service Manager, you''ll be instrumental in providing high-quality support and positive outcomes for young people leaving care, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. This crucial role involves guiding them through their transition into adulthood and independent living, ensuring they receive the best advice and guidance in their homes.
You''ll be responsible for auditing and monitoring care plans and working to Key Performance Objectives (KPOs). Your oversight will ensure that all standards, legislation, and contractual obligations are met, aligning with both the KCC Contract and relevant laws, including Ofsted regulations and the Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership andamp; Management
- Plan and prioritize your diary to ensure monthly 1-to-1s and performance reviews are completed.
- Monitor care plans, workforce plans, and conduct regular audits.
- Report regularly to the KCC Registered Service Manager and/or the Senior Management Team as required.
- Manage your time effectively to meet business demands, overseeing a team of support workers across Kent to ensure productivity.
- Meet your own Key Performance Objectives and actively support team members in achieving theirs and fulfilling contract and Ofsted requirements.
- Review and monitor staff performance against contractual, team, and business requirements.
- Provide cover for staff absences in the field.
- Coordinate and liaise with team members to ensure cohesive and compliant service delivery.
- Responsible for people management, including addressing sickness, absence, capabilities, and disciplinary matters.
- Provide on-call cover during peak times or emergencies.
Young Person Support andamp; Development
- Provide direct support, advice, and guidance to support workers and the young people living independently.
- Assist in developing young people''s independent living skills.
- Promote positive life choices, including social activities, budgeting, health, and education.
- Research and maintain an up-to-date library of local services to assist in supporting young people.
- Update and ensure progress is made with care plans.
Compliance andamp; Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate and liaise with various stakeholders and local authorities, including the Police, NHS, charities, and Environmental Health.
- Plan and manage personal business objectives in line with contract specifications and KCC standards.
- Ensure the team is trained and developed to meet contract requirements and excel in their roles, adhering to Ofsted regulations.
- Liaise with social services and other professionals regarding service delivery, support, and accommodation, responding to complaints/issues promptly.
