This permanent Junior Sous Chef position with Berkeley Scott sits within a branded restaurant group preparing a new Glasgow City centre opening in January. The total package reaches up to £47,500 annually, comprising a £32,500 base salary plus roughly £15,000 in Tronc, with tips also paid during annual leave. The successful candidate will join a back-of-house brigade of 15 to 19 chefs and kitchen staff, supporting senior colleagues in running service. Applicants should bring high-volume or branded restaurant experience, strong food safety knowledge, and the ability to organise sections under pressure. We''re working with a growing branded restaurant group on the appointment of a Junior Sous Chef for their new city centre opening in January. This is a high volume operation, so the successful Junior Sous Chef will ideally come from a branded restaurant or high volume background and will be comfortable working at pace within a back of house team of 15 to 19 across chefs and kitchen team.
This is a great Junior Sous Chef role for a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up, or for someone already at Junior Sous level looking to join a group that promotes from within. The group invests heavily in its people, with structured development, healthcare and clear career pathways.
Candidates will need to be available to start in early January in order to be in place ahead of the opening. As this is a brand new opening, the incoming Junior Sous Chef will be part of the team setting standards in the kitchen from day one.
