About The Client

Our client, BAE Digital Intelligence, are looking to grow their Site Reliability capability following continuous growth and success in the UK National Security sector at their Manchester Office.

About The Role

It all starts with our introductory training courses, covering everything you need to know to get started. Our in-depth training is full time and is delivered on a hybrid learning basis (classroom & and remote). You''ll learn a lot quite quickly - it will be fast-paced, but enjoyable and highly engaging!

After the training period you''ll gain industry experience by joining BAE and working on their projects. You will:
- Work across a variety of customer facing projects and problems to deploy & maintain our customers Software Platforms
- Be able to write code that can contribute to the creation of mission critical systems
- Use a variety of programming languages and technologies. Engineers are versatile and can work with various languages and technologies depending on the situation. You might specialise in 1 or 2 technical areas, or might want to learn many more on your journey through the business
- Become proficient in AWS Cloud (extensive training to be provided on this technology from BAE)
- Use monitoring, data & reporting to understand how systems are performing, identify problems and help improve the reliability of critical services
- Help investigate incidents & technical issues, using data and evidence to understand what went wrong and prevent problems.

About You

- Have a passion for working in Software development, cloud development and an interest in exploring Agile methodologies and ways of working
- Be able to display the following skills: problem solving, attention to detail, adaptability and the desire to ''fix'' things
- Be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to build trust and a rapport
- Motivated by technical challenges
- Ability and enthusiasm to learn
- You have a degree, but it doesn''t have to be in CompSci or a STEM degree
- You don''t have a degree, but you have some recent work experience or you''ve been doing some upskilling in technology recently

Travel

Please note: You may be required to work on client sites and also come into your base office on a regularly. Expense costs will be covered to client sites if they are further away than your base office. The expectation for this role is 3-4 days a week minimum requirement in your base office or as much as your individual project requires (may be up to 5 days a week).

Security Clearance
Only those with the permanent and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK will be considered for a position within BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, with strict residency & nationality requirements. Due to the nature of our work, successful candidates for this role will be required to go through Government SC clearance prior to starting with us and DV Clearance shortly before or after joining.
