This is a new role, so pupil numbers will initially be small, but we expect that the number of pupils taking lessons will quickly grow. Music provides the heartbeat to life at Putney High School; it has a wonderfully vibrant and inclusive department, and pupils are passionate about music. The curriculum is varied and stimulating and is supported by an extensive co-curricular programme which currently includes three choirs and a wide range of instrumental ensembles. Regular performances take place throughout the school year. The candidate will be a singing specialist with experience teaching children in the primary age range. They will be used to working in a busy school environment and will be able to adapt their teaching methods to a wide range of abilities from young beginners to potential music scholars aiming for success at the highest ABRSM grades.
