Our client are a precision manufacturing business, based in Birmingham, specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components. The Junior Quality Compliance Certification Officer will be detail orientated, hands-on, can-do individual who has the ability to support various departmental requirements. The Junior Quality Compliance Certification Officer will be required to ensure that products have the correct material certification/ documentation on time to the required quality standards in accordance with the customer specification.

Job Description

  • Recognise and interpret material certification (2.1- Certificate of Conformity, 3.1 - 3.2 True and Intent - Mill certificates, NOT records, Welding records, Dimensional Reports and CMM records etc.
  • Reviewing of certification supplied by supply chain and verifying against the customers specifications in order to ensure full compliance with the customers'' requirements.
  • Liaising with suppliers to communicate effectively any required corrections to certificates where required.
  • Analysing and verifying material using XRF positive material identification equipment
  • Ensure that any discrepancies with material certification, documents or administration are highlighted, investigated and resolved prior to delivery to the Customer.
  • Support projects to improve the workflow of certification and efficiency of processing to reduce checking lead times and ensure 100% RFT quality of product provided and associated certification.
  • Maintain the certification database and ensure KPI targets are achieved.

    • Internally
    • Externally
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to, deviations from process should be highlighted and the SOP reviewed and updated to ensure the process is correct and up to date.
  • Carrying out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested.
  • Raising concessions relating to material
  • Raising and actioning DR''s.
  • Support the contract review process, where required, ensuring that it is adhered to and fully reviewed prior to acknowledgements. -

  • Support the goods inwards process.
  • Support works order reviews where required.
  • Arrange and monitor 3rd party test house requests.
  • Demonstrate outstanding organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in the delivery of key activities and projects as required.
  • Working to very tight and constantly changing deadlines with absolute discretion.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative to achieve required deadlines.
  • Supporting visitors on site, on a day to day basis/ when required.
  • Keep accurate and up to date data, ensuring that it is maintained in relation to Quality Administration / Certification, in conjunction with the Companies Quality Administration Control processes, to ensure that products are traceable and delivered with the correct certification / documentation
  • Ensuring all trackers updated.
  • Carry out all relevant Quality Administration checks, ensuring that all process documentation is stamped and or signed accordingly.
  • Cover for Quality Compliance Administrator as required.
  • ''Buddy checks'' with Final Inspection.
  • Provide back up to the quality team, covering holiday leave and or supporting overflow activities as deemed appropriate by the Senior Quality Compliance Officer.
  • Support the quality team in relation to the procedures for ISO 45001, 9001and 14001.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures.
  • Be a positive role model in promoting the requirements of the Quality Culture and ensuring others operate with the same values.
  • Participate in cross functional teams.
  • Ensure continued communication and good relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Carrying out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested.
  • Support in raising and actioning DR''s, where applicable.

Junior Quality Compliance Certification Officer
Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills
  • Strong administration experience in a Manufacturing/Engineering environment
  • Proven experience of documentation compilation and control
  • A high level of attention to detail, prioritisation and planning skills
  • Strong computer literate skills including experience with IT systems and intermediate-advanced level in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
