You will be joining the backend Development team at PetLabCo, reporting into the Lead backend Engineer. You will be helping to optimise backend tech stack, working on small tech projects such as updating APIs, creating new ones, creating and implementing new features and supporting on bigger initiatives.You will have the opportunity to grow your technical skills with hands-on experience in a modern tech stack in a super-fast paced and exciting business environment. Participate in daily stand-ups and peer code reviewsDevelop high-quality, tested Python microservices for AWS under guidanceCollaborate with senior engineers to implement technical solutions that meet functional needsLearn and apply best practices to improve code quality and team processesCommunicate progress, blockers, and technical challenges to the teamRequirements

What You Need

Relevant degree (IT, Engineering etc) or equivalent experience1-3 years of experience working with backend technologies (Python, MySQL)Demonstratable project experience utilizing Python and MySQL or similarBasic understanding of programming languages and paradigms, with a willingness to take feedback and improveEnthusiastic self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with the teamPassion for learning and to grow in a supportive environmentAny exposure to the following technologies is a plus: Terraform, Microservices, API Gateway, Pydantic, Alembic, Lambda, or AWS CloudOur Tech Stack
