A well-established logistics company with sites throughout the UK is looking for a Junior Logistics Coordinator to join its Plymouth team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career within freight forwarding and logistics. The company is focused on finding the right person and offers structured training, ongoing development and plenty of room to progress.

The role will involve supporting European road freight import and export operations while providing a high level of service to customers.

As a Junior Logistics Coordinator, you will support the day-to-day coordination of road freight shipments from collection through to final delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating European road freight import and export shipments

• Arranging collections and deliveries with transport partners

• Supporting groupage, part-load and full-load movements

• Liaising with customers, hauliers, suppliers and overseas agents

• Monitoring shipments and providing regular customer updates

• Preparing and checking transport documentation

• Obtaining rates from suppliers and transport providers

• Producing quotations for customers

• Updating freight management systems accurately

• Maintaining clear and accurate shipment records

• Resolving delays, delivery issues and operational queries

• Supporting the wider freight forwarding team

• Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers

• Ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and within agreed timescales

This role is all about finding the right person. Previous freight forwarding experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• An interest in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping or transport

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Good organisational and time-management abilities

• Strong attention to detail

• Confidence using computers and administrative systems

• The ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities

• A positive and professional attitude

• Good problem-solving skills

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A genuine willingness to learn and develop
