Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking a motivated Junior Lift Engineer to join an established independent lift engineering company, working throughout Portsmouth and the surrounding Hampshire area.
No prior experience in the lift industry is required. This opportunity is ideal for someone with an electrical or mechanical background who wants to apply their skills in the lift industry and build a long-term engineering career.
You will receive specialist training and practical support while learning to service, maintain and fault-find across a varied portfolio of lift equipment.
The Junior Lift Engineer Role
- Assist with the planned servicing and maintenance of passenger and goods lifts.
- Learn how to inspect, test and maintain electrical and mechanical lift components.
- Support experienced engineers with fault-finding, breakdowns and minor repairs.
- Develop an understanding of different lift systems, equipment and manufacturers.
- Identify worn or defective components and report any required remedial work.
- Complete service documentation accurately using the company''s systems.
- Follow all health and safety procedures while working on customer sites.
- Build the technical knowledge required to work independently as a Lift Engineer.
Ideal Junior Lift Engineer Candidate
- Practical experience or qualifications within an electrical or mechanical field.
- Suitable backgrounds could include electrical installation, industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a related discipline.
- A strong interest in developing a career within the lift industry.
- Good practical problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Willingness to learn, undertake training and develop new technical skills.
- Able to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Reliable, safety-conscious and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
