Junior Estimator

Job Description: Location: Willand, Cullompton Job Type: Full-time Temp-Permanent Salary: £30,000-£40,000 Role Overview AMLR are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our estimating team. The successful candidate will support the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations for projects, while developing their knowledge and experience within the estimating and engineering industry. Key Responsibilities for Junior Estimator: Assist with preparing cost estimates and quotations for engineering/manufacturing projects. Review customer drawings, specifications, and enquiries to understand requirements. Calculate costs for materials, labour, machining, fabrication, assembly, and subcontract services. Obtain and compare supplier/subcontractor quotations. Liaise with production, engineering, purchasing, and sales teams to establish accurate costs. Assist with Bill of Materials (BOMs) and material requirements. Research material prices and manufacturing processes. Enter and maintain pricing information using Excel and estimating/ERP systems. Prepare quotation documents and ensure they are submitted within customer deadlines. Review previous projects and historical costs to improve estimating accuracy.
