A well-established ground engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Junior Engineering Geologist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with up to two years'' experience to develop their career while working on a wide range of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.

The role is predominantly site-based, giving you the opportunity to build strong technical and practical experience while working alongside experienced engineers and engineering geologists.

The role:

• Assisting with ground investigations across a variety of sites
• Logging soil and rock to BS5930 standards
• Supervising trial pits, window sampling and borehole investigations
• Coordinating and overseeing drilling contractors
• Collecting soil, rock and groundwater samples for laboratory testing
• Carrying out in-situ testing including CBR, soakaway and permeability testing
• Producing factual ground investigation reports
• Assisting with geotechnical and geoenvironmental interpretative reporting
• Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with current health and safety standards

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Willingness to travel and work on sites across the region
• Enthusiastic attitude with a desire to develop a career within ground engineering
