Junior Electrical Project Engineer

We are working with a well-established engineering contractor who are looking to recruit an Junior Project Engineer with an electrical bias to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Industrial Electrician looking to progress into project engineering, or an electrically qualified engineer who wants to develop their experience across MEICA, commissioning and project delivery.

You will work closely with the MEICA Project Managers and wider project team, gaining exposure to projects from initial site surveys and pricing through to installation, commissioning and close-out.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in:

• Attending sites to carry out electrical isolations and support MEICA activities.
• Undertaking site surveys and identifying project requirements.
• Fault-finding on electrical and MEICA equipment.
• Supporting the management of site resources and subcontractors.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Assisting with project pricing, quotations and cost sheets.
• Attending project meetings with clients, designers and subcontractors.
• Supporting commissioning activities and site acceptance testing.
• Assisting with RAMS, Safe Systems of Work and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Maintaining accurate site records, photographs and project documentation.
• Developing knowledge across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation disciplines.

What We''re Looking For

The key requirement is a strong industrial electrical background.

You should ideally have:

• Previous experience working as an Industrial Electrician or in a similar industrial electrical environment.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Strong practical electrical experience, including the ability to safely isolate electrical equipment.
• C&G Inspection & Testing experience/qualification would be highly desirable.
• Good understanding of electrical installations and industrial equipment.
• An interest in developing beyond purely electrical work into wider MEICA and project engineering.

Experience within the water, wastewater or utilities sectors would be advantageous, although candidates from other industrial environments will also be considered.

Familiarity with equipment such as actuators, pumps, instrumentation, flowmeters or control systems would also be beneficial.
