Junior Electrical Design Engineer

The role

A national building services consultancy is looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer to join its Ipswich office. You will work alongside experienced engineers designing electrical services across a varied mix of projects, with structured support to grow your technical skills and work towards professional registration.

Our client is an established, multi-disciplinary building services consultancy with offices across the UK. They provide mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) design and sustainability services from concept through to completion.

The Ipswich team works on a diverse project portfolio, including:

• Education-
• Healthcare-
• Commercial-
• Residential-
• Public sector, heritage and refurbishment projects

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the design of electrical services, including LV power distribution, small power, lighting and emergency lighting, containment, earthing and bonding
• Support the design of building systems such as fire alarm, access control, security, data and lightning protection
• Carry out calculations and cable sizing using industry software-
• Produce and coordinate drawings and models with Revit technicians and other disciplines
• Prepare specifications, schedules and technical reports under the guidance of senior engineers
• Attend site visits, surveys, inspections and design team meetings
