The Company

Our client is a specialist engineering company that provides bespoke piping design solutions and the supply of niche pipe support equipment for a wide range of industrial projects. Working closely with contractors, they design piping systems that account for factors such as thermal expansion and operational stresses, ensuring systems remain safe, efficient, and compliant. Their expertise includes advising on expansion joints, pipe rerouting, and other engineered solutions to minimise stress on pipework.

Due to an increase in enquiries over the last year, they are now looking to expand their team and are therefore recruiting a Junior Design Engineer.

The Role

The role of Junior Design Engineer will join an established team of 6 in designing the bespoke piping solutions. Working on SolidWorks, you will be responsible for the detailed 3D design work.  The role of Junior Design Engineer will involve:

• Produce detailed 3D designs and models of bespoke pipe support systems using SolidWorks, tailored to individual customer specifications.
• Design pipe support structures, including determining appropriate styles, dimensions and structural strength to meet project requirements.
• Create and issue accurate 3D models for integration into clients'' wider project models and engineering drawings.
• Liaise directly with customers to understand project requirements, provide technical guidance and deliver bespoke engineering solutions.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Junior Design Engineer role you will need:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Professional experience using SolidWorks to produce detailed 3D models and engineering designs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with customers and understand technical requirements.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work collaboratively on bespoke engineering projects.
